descriptif:
La Main de Massiges, or "Hand of Massiges" is a major World War I site. It is located east of the Champagne front, at the junction with the Argonne front. When forced to retreat in September 1914, the Germans took refuge on this plateau shaped like a left hand placed flat on the ground, each finger representing a bastion of this natural fortress.
